My Erasmus+ Story: Finding a Second...

During the summer semester of the 2025/2026 academic year, we welcomed Alesia-Cătălina Toma from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (Academia de Studii Economice din București), Romania. Alesia shared her Erasmus+ experience with us and explained why Pula will always hold a special place in her heart.

“My time in Pula was the happiest period of my life. It was an unforgettable experience that will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because of the beautiful architecture that surprised me at every step and the breathtaking scenery surrounding the city, but also because of the incredible people who made the experience truly special. Living in a multicultural environment allowed me to form connections with people from different countries and cultures, broadening my perspective.

I believe that the Faculty of Economics and Tourism at the University of Pula (UNIPU) was the perfect choice for my Erasmus studies, as it allowed me to achieve an ideal balance between my academic responsibilities and my personal life. The courses were engaging and well structured, an encouraging learning environment that motivated me to participate actively in class.

Looking back, choosing Pula was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Even though my heart is divided now between Bucharest and Pula, I am grateful I got the chance to call this city ‘my home’.”

Thank you, Alesia, for choosing the Juraj Dobrila University of Pula for your Erasmus+ experience and for sharing these wonderful memories with us. We are happy that Pula became your second home, and we wish you lots of success, happiness and exciting new experiences in the future. You will always be welcome back in Pula!
